For this example, I will be using the online store regular rate (using the discount rate could lead to warped perception of the cost after the deal is no longer applied).

WordPress

What is WordPress?

WordPress is a software that helps build a website without needing to code. Albeit there are still some avenues to customize one’s theme using css and the built-in html block.

Themes

WordPress provides a small selection of free pre-installed themes, but it also offers a large library of themes at various price ranges. Themes allow users to select a general design of their website which provide users with a helpful starting point on their journey to building their website. The general design of themes functions as a template that can inform how a user’s website could be organized. Some themes also have more template blocks or plugins (for a price, of course).

Blocks

Organizing a website is made easy with blocks. At their base function, blocks are just another template. However, instead of a functioning as a template for a website, it functions as a template for content. Some blocks are literal templates with content, images, etc. being sectioned off with filler content for users to replace. Other blocks are even more basic than template blocks and allow users to select the type of content and even how the content will be displayed. For instance, a user could mass select images to display and choose from display options such as carousel, gallery, etc.

Plug-ins

The blocks pre-installed into WordPress usually cover the basic functionality of any content that a user would want to insert, but plug-ins allow users to have more advanced or specialized features. For example, if I wanted to build a form and wanted to collect different types of information than what is available in a basic block, I would download a plug-in. Like themes users can find free or paid plug-ins to enhance their site.

Built-in Plugins on WordPress

The list below are built-in plugins for collecting and analyzing visitor information and more. Click the list item to go to a different page that explains what these built-in plugins are and what they do.
